The veterans of the first World War had a hard time getting their benefits promised by the government. Our generation has had more success, but we had the rewards of the GI Bill which was one of the great legislative achievements of the age. The health system for veterans has improved and we are proud to be Americans in this great land. We appreciate the concern demonstrated by this Commission.
